Renée Watkins, Head Instructor and Administrator

    Mrs. Watkins is a third degree black belt in the art of Taekwondo.  She loves working with children, and she is the one who keeps the place running, without her there would be no Watkins Taekwondo & Jiu-Jitsu Academy.  Mrs. Watkins is also an active competitor, and an American Taekwondo National Champion (2016).  In addition to these things she is also a Certified Instructor in the American Taekwondo Foundation.  She is also a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

Marty Reeves, Assistant Instructor

    Mr. Reeves is a second degree black belt in Taekwondo, and blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu.  He is a driven competitor!  He is also an American Taekwondo National Champion (2016 & 2018).  Currently he works as the varsity high school soccer coach, and an economics teacher at LD Bell High School.

Abby Narvarte, Assistant Instructor

    Mrs. Narvarte is a second degree black belt in Taekwondo, and a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu.  She loves training hard, and pushing her physical limits in the martial arts, competing in both arts, and helping and teaching others.

Tony Narvarte, Assistant Instructor

    Mr. Narvarte is a second degree black belt in Taekwondo, as well as a Certified Instructor in the American Taekwondo Foundation.  He really enjoys working out regularly, helping and teaching others.  He is also currently working in the computer science industry as a computer programmer.

John Monreal, Assistant Instructor

    Mr. Monreal is currently a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu, and helps out with our Kids Jiu-Jitsu program.  He is an active competitor, trains as often as he can, and loves helping build our team through the kids class.  He is also an incredible metal worker / artist!

Jeremy Watkins, Chief Instructor and Founder

    Mr. Watkins has been studying the martial arts for over 20 years, and has reached the rank of fourth degree black belt in the art of Taekwondo under the instruction of seventh degree black belt Master Brian James.  He is also a nationally certified instructor under the American Taekwondo Foundation.  Mr. Watkins competes regularly, and is a two time American Taekwondo National Champion (2012 & 2013).  

    Mr. Watkins is also a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under the instruction of third degree black belt Professor Samuel Puccio, and is an active competitor of the Carlson Gracie Team.  His Lineage is as follows:

Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Carlson Gracie > Rodrigo Medeiros > Samuel Puccio > Jeremy Watkins

    Mr. Watkins’ greatest accomplishments are that of his students!  He has trained quite a few black belts over the years, and has even coached National Champions in Taekwondo.  He has also had the privilege of seeing the students who study with him in Jiu-Jitsu walk the podium in many major Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and Pro events (IBJJF, American Grappling Federation, Five Grappling, Submission Hunter Pro, and Fight to Win Pro).  He’s produced medalists at every event his students have ever competed in, and he plans to continue to devote his life to teaching, coaching and mentoring his students for as long as he is able!
